Equipment required:
How to make up the 20% dextrose or glucose solution:
Draw 25mls of 40% dextrose or glucose into the syringe then draw 25mls of hot, recently boiled water into the syringe. This will provide a 20% solution, close to body temperature.
How to give the injection:
Hold the lamb by the front legs and allow to dangle. The site for the injection is about 2 cm (1 in.) below the navel and 2 cm (1 in.) to the side (either side). Point the needle towards the tail of the lamb and inject the solution slowly.
